Love you!

Well I splashed out about bought myself some more MFT dies. I love that company – their dies are awesome quality and they ship same/next day – important when they’re shipping overseas as it means I get it as soon as I possibly can this end!

This card is quite a good one for the man in your life. It’s very much “no frills” and to the point. I like the simplicity of it – but don’t be fooled, it did take quite a while to complete.

I like the colour scheme – the grey on ivory is subtle but is balanced well with the pillar-box red hearts and handwriting.

I have done a video – it’s quite a long one, as I’m a bit out of practice ;-$ but I hope you enjoy it anyway and find it useful and inspiring.

Enjoy!

Valentine Card - Die Cut Freebie!

Here’s a super fast Valentine’s Day card & freebie for those of you that need to make a last minute card for your special someone!

I’ve designed the die cut myself, and as a thank you for all your comments, subscriptions and support here at my blog and at YouTube, I’m offering it here on my blog as a free download =)

I’ve saved it in all the formats I know of (!) so there should be a file for everyone to use: .AI, .DXF, .EPS, GSD, JPG, PNG, .STUDIO, & .SVG. [There is a picture of the design included, so those of you that do not have a CraftRobo or Silhouette machine can just cut out the template by hand.]

!!CLICK HERE for the compressed freebie files!!

And there’s also a tutorial video as usual to show you how to put the card together below. [For those of you who are new to the Silhouette software, please view my previous tutorial video which shows you how to get around the software and design your own die cuts.]

Please don’t forget to rate my videos and subscribe to me over at my YT Channel if you haven’t done so already. Also, if you ‘follow’ my Facebook and Twitter pages, then you’ll always be the first to know when my next video/blog post is up =)

Thanks again for your support & happy crafting!!

Valentine Heart card & Silhouette Studio tutorial

A completely die cut card, designed (pretty much) from scratch using two downloads from the Silhouette Studio website. In the first video, I will walk you through how I did this, and in the second, I’ll show you how I complied the card from all of the die cuts.

Silhouette Studio logo
This design requires the above software. Please feel free to click on the image to take you straight to the download page of their website. If you have a Silhouette or a CraftRobo machine, you should be able to download and use this software as they are both the same machines, that (for some strange reason) are sold under different names in different countries.

I hope you find the Silhouette Studio software walkthrough useful. I had considered using Illustrator for this, but it is far more complicated than it needs to be for the purposes of this design.

As you can see, the designing only took me 10 minutes from start to finish. It’s only easy when you know how though; hence I hope the tutorial inspires you to be more adventurous with your designing!

Please don’t forget to rate my videos and subscribe to me over at my YT Channel. Also, if you ‘follow’ my Facebook and Twitter pages, then you’ll always know when my next video/blog post is up.

Be My Valentine

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!! I've made this card using a dark brown and turquoise colour scheme, which makes a change from the usual RED valentine's cards, but I love this colour combo so I went ahead and did something a bit different...

The tutorial talks you through the colouring of the chipboard letters with Tim Holtz Distress Inks and colour washing with perfect pearls to give them a gorgeous sheen, and I also show you how to add beadwork to your project to give it a little extra sparkle for your someone special. I have used the new ‘Valentine Flourishes’ set from Hero Arts for this project – I just can’t get enough of these flourish stamp sets at the moment!

Head on over to my YT channel to see a larger version of this video and to rate and subscribe. Have a wonderful & romantic day!

Monochrome Wedding Card

<Digimax S600 / Kenox S600 / Digimax Cyber 630>
Wedding card are such lovely cards to make! I just love all the romance and happy tears at the ceremony ;0)
<Digimax S600 / Kenox S600 / Digimax Cyber 630>Today’s card is for a wedding I went to a while back. I’ve just been a little slow in getting the video edited and published!! Mainly cos I went to the wedding as part of my holiday to Gibraltar and I’ve been a little busy catching up ever since I got back…

This is a super simple card. It really did not take long at all! And I’m loving the monochrome feel (quite popular at weddings these days – but not this one, they had a purple theme). I didn’t know the colour scheme at the time, so I went for safety colours of black and white. This could be altered to say “two hearts” or “I *heart* U” to make it less formal. But for a wedding card, I chose “love” as the sentiment.

Here’s a picture of the happy couple on their big day…

Below is the video. As usual, please click on the HQ button in the right hand corner after pressing play to see it in its highest quality. If you enjoy the video, it would be great if you can hop over to YT to rate and subscribe to my channel!
Thanks for watching! ;0)

Wedded bliss!

This was a card a friend asked me to do for a wedding she couldn't go to. It was out in New Zealand, so the couple had a small do when they got back for those that couldn't make it. So their card could have a personalised photo of them on their big day.

I love this card. The bride is Asian, and the rich reds and glitter fit her personality and culture perfectly. I don't often use Anita's Outline stickers because I think they look tacky...sorry, but it's just my opinion...but I think the heart has worked well here to finish the card off nicely.

The close up below shows how the layering was acheived using a part of a Papermania Ornate stamp with 3d stickys and a brad to finish the effect.
