This card was a lot of fun to make, and it is a really quick card to make in a birthday emergency! I really enjoyed using the big alphabet stamps, stamping over letters and squishing them all together so they’d fit onto the card. I like this effect as it gives a lot of movement to the card.
The flowers were cut out of some patterned paper and I used my embossing tool to create the 3d effect of the petals.
The swirls were stamped onto the cream c.s. in versamark ink, and embossed in gold e.p. This gave a less vivid gold colour, that looks more yellowy than anything else. If you want a more obvious gold sheen, then you should ink up in gold, and emboss in gold e.p. on top of this.
This card is now for sale at My Folksy Shop!

I love this one - the colours are so different from the norm. Love the stamped letters and how you have squished them together. Fab! Sheila:)X
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card - I love the embossing technique on the flowers and I'm pinching that one if you don't mind!
ReplyDeleteHave you got any tips for using the coluzzle circle cutting system? I've just received mine from the US (eBay!) and I can see that it's good, it's just that on the first few tries the card keeps slipping, and the knife has been snagging a bit on the edges of the slots. Advice would be appreciated! Jess :)
This is such a happy card and so pretty! Great tutorial!
ReplyDeleteI have left an award for you on my blog. http://whimcees.blogspot.com
Wishing you a great day today!

Hi Wendy, thanks for the tips with the Coluzzle - with a bit more practice I'm getting much better results with it. It was definitely a good investment! Messi Jessi
